Squeezing my eyes shut, I crouched at the bottom of the staircase and placed my hands over my ears. My stomach clenched as warm, salty tears began to drop from my eyes. I drew my knees up to my chest and waited for silence to overtake the clamor of voices hurling acerbic words overhead.

What is truth? When I was sixteen, that was the question I desperately wished to answer. All my life I had been raised in a Christian home where we punctually attended Christian church, prayed Christian prayers, read Christian books and sang Christian songs. But as a homeschooler entering public school in ninth grade, I encountered worldviews dissimilar from my own.

Although I decided in high school to honestly reckon with my faith, to determine that I would myself (not as my parents’ daughter or member of my youth group or baptized child) practice Christianity, I had a nagging sense that my decision was inevitable because of how growing up Christian has shaped me. Was my faith legitimate, or as legitimate as that of those who converted later in life?
Easter on Cross
Athletes in Action, Black Church at Yale, Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, Christian Union, United Church of Westville and Yale Students for Christ are coming together to celebrate Easter on Cross-Campus, 1.30pm-2.30pm, April 21st 2019.
The event will feature a time of worship, a spoken word performance and a time of for testimonies. The Logos staff interviewed some people from various Christian ministries who are involved in the event to share their heart for this special holy day! Enjoy!

Second Draft Workshop

Second drafts for our print publication are due Oct 31st, so this meeting will cover common problems in the first drafts, what to think about for the second draft, and some ideas on how to make the pieces talk to each other and flow.

Content Editing Workshop

For our print publication, we will be conducting content editing in person. At the Elm Institute, and guided by Peter Wicks, you will be paired with a partner and will each edit each other’s pieces for content and discuss what worked and what didn’t.

For our print publication, we will be conducting copy editing in person. You will be paired with a partner and will each edit each other’s pieces for grammar and punctuation, and polish off anything else needed in the draft.
