As Greene has it, “He felt like someone who had missed happiness by seconds at an appointed place.”

The Gardener and the Grower

March 16, 2021 | By Gabbi Zegers ‘21

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20

Wilderness

Feb 24, 2021 | By Taylor Plett ‘21+1

What does it mean to be in the wilderness?

I spent a good hunk of 2020 moving between ranches in the Great Plains states—a near-nomadic stint of life in literal wilderness. It was an accidental metaphor for the world at large during a global pandemic. I can draw some parallels.

Tough-minded and Tenderhearted

Feb 16, 2021 | By Andrew Raines Duke ‘21

Throughout the year, the Church follows the whole course of Jesus’ life from birth to ascension. We do so because we believe Christ’s life brings us life. If we stumble along in his footsteps, our lives will be changed for the better.

So, Lent is the time when Christians prepare for sharing in Jesus’ resurrection on Easter by first reliving his 40 days in the desert. We walk with him through his experience of deprivation and temptation in the wilderness (Luke 4:1–13; Matthew 4:1-11). .
