Keep Those Wedding Garments On
Mar 26, 2026 | By Colin Levine SY ‘28
On Tuesday nights, my friend and I go evangelizing in the heart of Yale’s Campus. We approach students and ask about their faith backgrounds before sharing about our own. You’d be surprised how kind and interested everyone is. A few months ago, at the end of one of these conversations, an Orthodox-raised student told us that while he thinks there’s probably something out there he’s not seeing, he just doesn’t have time to think about it right now. He said he would probably revisit the question when he was “50 or something.”
Help Me Believe
Mar 25, 2026 | By Jessica Jang UT Austin ‘27
“Cause Lord I believe, help me believe
Lord, I can see, but I still can’t see clearly
Lord, I believe, would you help me believe
'Cause I want it so bad
'Cause I want it so bad
'Cause I want it so bad.”
Catastrophe as Catastrophe
Mar 24, 2026 | By Julian Assele YDS ‘26
I never understood the necessity of hatred within the spiritual life until this past year. Growing up, I read the prophetical literature of the Old Testament and came away alienated from it. In the voice of God, Jeremiah and Isaiah prayed for the desecration of the Kingdom of Israel and the wrath of God to spare not a single soul from its consuming fire. The God of the prophets appeared distant, cruel, and unrelatable. But we Christians should not eschew hatred, because hatred for evil is how we know our love for the good.
Feel the Warmth on Your Skin, No One Else Can Feel It For You
Mar 23, 2026 | By Cline Piotrowski UT Austin ‘27
It’s the end of March! This year already, I have been blessed to travel to many places, from Dallas, Texas to Rapid City, South Dakota, and it has been astounding. I’ve experienced new people, new national parks, and new memories. However, the key change I have noticed these past three months, though, does not have anything to do with new locations. Rather, it has been the expected seasonal and locational change in the weather. Yep, the weather.
Means of Grace
Mar 22, 2026 | By Sarah Adams UT Austin ‘26
During this time of Lent, many are drawn, by the example of Jesus’s temptation in the wilderness, to place an emphasis on spiritual disciplines. One major example of this is fasting. Lent is a unique time when many Christians might practice fasting even if they have never or rarely practiced it before. In addition, many undertake new habits in the areas of prayer or Bible study during this season.
A Prayer for Lent
Mar 21, 2026 | By Madison Wu UT Austin ‘27
Lord, You endured our suffering. The wage of our sin is death, and yet You give us new life. Let your grace and steadfast love fill us with wonder and awe. During this season of Lent, we abstain from something good to direct our gaze to the Giver, from whom and through whom and to whom are all things. Redirect our gaze from ourselves to Your cross. Bring us to repentance and show us Your glory. Apart from You, all is futile. May we seek your righteousness alone.
